STORY

Once upon a time, an arrogant countess lived in the castle in Dobrova. Her arrogance brought misfortune and the castle disappeared, taking the countess with it. The curse of the Cursed Countess could only be broken by a person who would wash their face with clean water. When a little shepherd put his herd out to pasture, a mysterious woman appeared, offering him wealth if he washed his face. But the little shepherd refused and the Cursed Countess is still waiting for someone to save her from the curse.

EXPERIENCE

The Cursed Countess Jingle is the first musical mountain trail that takes children and adults on a special journey through the legend of the cursed countess living in the castle above Dobrova. Children learn about her through playing music on nine large and unique musical instruments set outdoors, while also discovering the human qualities that make our world a better and a more beautiful place. On the trail they collect coins to save the cursed countess from the spell, get to know the trees and solve an audio crossword that warrants a jingling reward at the finish line. Let the virtues come to life with your melody.

The Cursed Countess Jingle is a hiking adventure for the whole family. The trail is well-marked and designed for independent exploration, thanks to The Jingling Notebook that will lead you along the way, acquaint you with the story and teach you about the music and musical instruments, human qualities, trees and their curiosities. Much like the story, this adventure attracts a wide audience as it is designed for children and adults to explore values and create music. Private groups are also welcome.

WHERE

The Jingling Notebook, the key to a wholesome experience, can be purchased at the reception of G Design Hotel for 5 Euros, and comes with a free pencil and a jingling reward at the finish line. The Cursed Countess Jingle Adventure starts at G Design Hotel (GPS 46.02860941069272, 14.433661482463336) on Tržaška cesta in Ljubljana, right next to the exit for Brezovica, off the Primorska highway. You can park at either of the parking lots by the G Design Hotel located on Tržaška cesta 330, 1000 Ljubljana or ride a city bus to reach the starting point (line 6, stop at Gmajnica). Continue on the sidewalk along the asphalted road in the direction of Dobrova, past the Breskvar Gardening Center and Eurogarden. After 1,300 meters, you will reach the fire station in Podsmreka, where you cross the road at a crosswalk and follow the blazes and signs for Cursed Countess Jingle. Continue along the dirt road, turn right and follow a well-kept mountain trail to the top of Gradišče, at 578 meters above sea level. The last 100 meters are steep, so take it slow and steady. Music will cheer you on as you test your musical talents on 9 instruments set up along the way. At the top of Gradišče, comfortable benches and tables allow you to refresh and recharge. As always, carry your garbage out with you. Take the same trail back to the starting point at G Design Hotel, where a well-deserved jingling reward awaits you.
